closing DVD Salvos

it looks the beginning of the end of the HiDef DVD war has begun to end , or started to finish as some may say .

… . .. . .. . . . . .. .. .. …… . . . .. . . . . .

Time/Warner have recently announced their decision, after a lot of dilly-dallying (who can blame them really), to go with Blu-Ray technology in the distribution of their movies . in my most expert of idiotic opinions i think its a good thing . i mean, Microsoft supported HD-DVD for goodness sake – no Star Wars / Evil Empire analogies here please thank you . Blu-Ray is sexy, its got a cool name – it has less compression for video (15G HD-DVD cf 25G Blu-Ray) – its Blu – larger capacity – larger max. bitrate … isn’t region free (??! …woops)

.. .. .. . … . .. . .. . . . … . . . .. .. . . . . … . .

anyways… come sundown the consumer should be the one to benefit . especially the ones with a PlayStation 3 . but to be honest i don’t wholly trust Sony to do right by us people – look at the Memory Stick – Sony stubbornly holding onto their proprietary memcard format – even tho it fits into virtually no other manufacturers devices … thus forcing consumers into purchasing more Sony gear . or giving up on Sony totally like i did and switching to Panasonic et al. and the well-rounded SD Card .

…. .. . . . .. . .. . . .. … . . .

choose wisely my son – yes there are 2 paths you can go by, but in the long run, theres still time to change the road you’re on – ‘there was a little toolshed’ … ha ha ha, sounds like Postman Pat
